现场冷再生法是用大功率路面铣刨拌合机将路面混合料在原路面上就地铣刨、翻挖、破碎，再加入稳定剂、水泥、水（或加入乳化沥青）和骨料同时就地拌合，用路拌机原地拌合，碾压成型。现场冷再生工艺一般适用于病害严重的一级以下公路沥青路面的翻修、重建，冷再生后的路面一般需要加铺一定厚度的沥青罩面。目前应用类型已从初的单纯水泥冷再生，逐步丰富形成泡沫沥青、乳化沥青冷再生。
